As your council embarks on a new four-year term, it can be invaluable to create a culture that is devoted to long-term community goals versus short-term election promises. By going beyond the typical one-day strategic planning session and implementing a meaningful strategic planning framework, you can create a culture at both the council and administrative level that is able to narrow its focus to drive performance and community well-being.

LGAA is pleased to partner with It’s Logical Strategic Planning Services to offer a 60-minute webinar on how to implement a high-performance strategic planning framework that combines council’s goals with administrative action. The webinar will also feature stories from a CAO on their experience after investing in a more comprehensive strategic planning process.

Participants will leave this session with insights on:

  • How to define and coordinate council’s strategic plan with your corporate and department business plans;
  • How to use the framework to limit council’s involvement in administrative issues;
  • How your budgeting process can be improved by investing in your strategic planning framework;
  • How to maintain accountability to the plan; and
  • Tips on how to create your own high performing strategic plan.

Participants are encouraged to come prepared with your thoughts about what is working or not working with your past strategic planning process and have a working copy of your plan available for reference and note-taking.
